At a surprise booth reveal during the 2025 Prague Maker Faire, Josef Průša quietly unveiled a new prototype printer that caught attendees off guard: a compact CoreXY Prusa Mini, aimed directly at competing with Bambu’s A1 Mini and Creality’s K1C.
This prototype, nicknamed “PX1”, includes:
- 🧭 CoreXY motion system
- 🔄 Direct Drive Mini Extruder
- 🟢 Silent stepper drivers
- 📦 Fully enclosed print area (optional)
- 📡 Wi-Fi + Prusa Connect integration
- 🧠 Runs on a forked version of PrusaSlicer tuned for speed
While not yet confirmed for production, insiders claim Prusa has already built 30+ test units and is seeking feedback on pricing models. Rumored target MSRP: $299–$349 — significantly undercutting its usual premium range.
Josef Průša emphasized this is not a “Bambu clone,” but rather “Prusa’s answer to speed, access, and quality at the entry level.”
