Anycubic has officially confirmed that a second-generation Kobra 3 Combo is in development, and it’s set to feature a newly redesigned heated AMS unit capable of supporting up to five filaments with advanced humidity control and expanded compatibility.
According to a pre-launch announcement posted on Bilibili and Weibo, the new Combo 2.0 system will include:
- Heated AMS chamber to reduce brittle filament during long prints
- Support for up to 5 spools with auto-detection
- Tangle-resistant filament pathways and sensor array
- Color blending support via firmware trickery (basic gradients)
- Reworked slicer profiles for Bambu Studio and OrcaSlicer compatibility
- Native cloud control with resume-from-interruption logic
The Kobra 3 printer itself will remain largely unchanged (CoreXZ motion, Klipper base, 300×300×300 build), but the firmware and accessory upgrades aim to bring the system closer to Bambu-level capabilities — without raising the total price past $599.
Anycubic also teased a possible “Lite” version that includes only the printer and a plug-ready AMS port, allowing users to upgrade later.
