Leaked firmware files and early user reports suggest that Creality is preparing to release Sonic Pad 2.0, a major firmware and feature update for their Klipper-powered touchscreen controller.

The Sonic Pad has always been popular with modders and tinkerers, but up until now, support was heavily skewed toward Creality’s own printers. That may be about to change.

According to the changelog from early beta testers, Sonic Pad 2.0 includes:

  • ✅ Native profile support for machines like the Bambu P1P, Ender 3 V3 KE, and Prusa MK4
  • ✅ Integrated Mesh Viewer for live Z-offset feedback
  • ✅ Improved pressure advance calibration wizard
  • ✅ Full backup and restore system for config files
  • ✅ Experimental fluidd-style remote access dashboard

One major shift: Creality may finally be embracing a more open hardware philosophy — no longer requiring brand lock-in to take advantage of the Sonic Pad’s features.

This change could bring the pad back into relevance, especially for users with mixed-brand print farms or modded machines.

The 2.0 firmware has not yet been officially announced, but internal testers say it’s “weeks away” from release, and early firmware builds are already circulating in enthusiast Discords and GitHub forks.
