Prusa Research has officially unveiled its newest flagship printer, the MK5 CoreXY, designed to combine speed, intelligence, and precision in one compact frame.
Unlike its predecessors, the MK5 adopts a CoreXY motion architecture, delivering speeds up to 600mm/s while maintaining the print quality that Prusa machines are known for. With its redesigned toolhead, new 32-bit electronics, and dual linear rails, it offers both strength and silent operation.
The standout feature is the Smart Calibration Suite, which uses an integrated accelerometer and AI-assisted nozzle mapping to automatically correct mechanical drift, bed leveling, and extrusion patterns.
Key highlights:
- CoreXY motion for ultra-fast, precise movement
- New hotend capable of 400°C printing for advanced materials
- Automated calibration and vibration control
- Modular magnetic bed with quick-swap plates
- PrusaConnect integration for remote monitoring
Josef Prusa, founder and CEO, stated:
“With the MK5, we’re redefining what’s possible for print farms and advanced makers. It’s built for speed, accuracy, and reliability at scale.”
Experts in the community view this as a strategic step toward professional-grade print automation while keeping Prusa’s hallmark accessibility.
