This new resin has passed stringent ISO 10993-1 and USP Class VI biocompatibility tests, making it safe for long-term contact with human tissue.
According to Formlabs, the resin can be used to produce high-precision implants tailored to each patient’s anatomy using advanced 3D scanning and modeling techniques. This could drastically reduce surgery times and improve recovery outcomes.
The resin is compatible with Formlabs’ Form 3B and Form 3B+ printers, and the company claims it maintains excellent mechanical properties even after sterilization via autoclaving.
