Bambu Lab has just made waves in the 3D printing world once again — this time with the surprise release of the A1 Mini SE, a CoreXY printer priced at just $199.

While competitors scramble to keep up with Qidi’s MAX 3 and Creality’s K1C, Bambu has strategically positioned the A1 Mini SE to dominate the entry-level CoreXY market. Despite its low price, it boasts features like automatic bed leveling, Wi-Fi connectivity, and silent stepper drivers — specs unheard of in this price range just a year ago.

Though stripped of multi-color support and high-speed printing, it still benefits from Bambu’s tightly integrated ecosystem and slicer compatibility. Early testers have reported exceptional print quality and reliability for standard PLA jobs.

The release may signal Bambu’s shift toward capturing the entry-level space, potentially phasing out less profitable models in favor of affordable, high-performance alternatives.

At just $199, it’s a direct challenge to Anycubic’s Kobra 2 and Elegoo’s Neptune 4. It may also signal a subtle endgame: funnel new users into the Bambu ecosystem early — then upsell them into the P1 and X1 series down the line.
