Two European innovators, Aerosint and Aconity3D, have unveiled a breakthrough in additive manufacturing: a multi-material metal 3D printing platform capable of fabricating aerospace-grade components with unmatched efficiency.

The system integrates Aerosint’s selective powder deposition technology, which lays down different metal powders with micrometer precision, with Aconity3D’s advanced laser powder bed fusion system. This combination allows engineers to create parts that fuse materials such as copper (for conductivity) and titanium (for strength) into a single structure.

This innovation could reshape critical industries by:

  • Reducing part counts through design consolidation
  • Cutting costs and shortening lead times
  • Enhancing performance by integrating material properties

Yves Hagedorn, CEO of Aconity3D, commented:

“We’re no longer just printing parts — we’re printing entire material systems, tailored to the mission.”

Industry analysts predict this approach will accelerate next-gen designs for satellites, hypersonic aircraft, and propulsion systems, redefining aerospace manufacturing standards.
